The consignment rate for saddles accepted for sale through Fine Used Saddles is 20%, with an exception for Hennigs made in 2005 or newer, for which the rate is 15%. For these competitive rates you will receive industry leading service.
We do expect saddles to arrive well-maintained, clean and ready to sell, but extra steps are taken to ensure your saddle is looking its absolute best. Each saddle is professionally detailed before it is listed for sale. We excavate dirt and hair from the crevices and stitching with specialized tools. We polish all metal hardware to a sparkle. The leather is given a touch up cleaning and conditioning with products selectively tailored to each individual saddle. These extra steps make all the difference in the appearance and condition of even the newest saddles, as can be referenced by the photos of any equipment currently on the site.
We shoot several angles of each saddle and display about a dozen clear and detailed photographs in each listing. We provide a thorough, accurate description of each saddle, responsive customer service, secure payment, careful packing, and secure shipping.
In order to maintain this site as a reliable resource for those seeking the highest quality used saddles, we are pretty exclusively accepting only the brands listed in the consignment form below for inclusion on this site. If you feel like your saddle's maker should be on the list and is not, please let me know!
All saddles must be clean, well conditioned, and in good condition or better. Your saddle must not have any rips or tears in the leather or any loose structural stitching. Billets must be safe and not overly worn. Trees must be sound and balanced. We reserve the right to refuse any saddle that does not meet these criteria. Billet covers are required for saddles with short billets. If you need replacements we can get them for you at your cost.
