Each used saddle comes with a 5-day trial. I want you to be confident and happy with your saddle purchase! Saddles are not guaranteed by FUS beyond those 5 days, but manufacturers warranties might apply.
I collect a deposit from you for the full price of the saddle plus shipping. You may check out online with any major credit card, check or money order. Every saddle you check out online will be considered a trial unless you are outside North America. From the day of delivery you have five days to ride in and evaluate the used saddle. If you decide the saddle is not right for you and your horse, or if for any reason you are dissatisfied, you may send the saddle back to me within those five days in the same condition as it was received. You are refunded the full amount, minus shipping, once I have the saddle back safely. Your only financial responsibility is ultimately the cost of shipping both ways.
- When you are trying one of my saddles, please take care to wear breeches. Jeans put more wear than necessary on fine leather. Please wear short boots and no chaps or half chaps.
- Please use a clean pad under the saddle to prevent sweat marks.
- Please do not apply any leather products (cleaners or conditioners) until you have decided to keep the saddle.
- For saddles in new condition or when stated that you must do so in the listing, please keep your trial to one short ride with your leathers wrapped to limit any marks on the flaps.
- Save the original shipping carton and original packing materials. Please inspect the box for damage it may have incurred on its way to you. If you need to make a return, please be sure the box has remained sturdy enough for a second shipping, and pack the saddle exactly as it was when you received it. Use plenty of tape to secure the package.
- You must notify me before the end of your trial period if you plan to return the saddle so I know to expect it back.
- All returns must be insured and shipped by either US Postal Service Priority Mail, FedEx Ground, or UPS Ground, and are the buyer's responsibility until I have them safely back in the original condition they left FUS in.
- At your option I can email you a printable, prepaid FedEx label for return shipping. The cost of return shipping by this method will be equal to your initial shipping cost if you chose FedEx, and will be deducted from your refund. You will only need to print the pdf label, apply it to the box, and drop it off at a FedEx Ground drop off point such as a FedEx Kinkos store. Depending on your location, this might be the easiest and the least expensive way for you to send it back. Check to be sure there is a FedEx Ground drop off location in your area.
- Upon receipt of the returned saddle, your refund will typically be initiated within 48 hours, but in special circumstances may take longer. If you paid with a credit card, the cost of the saddle will be credited back to your card. If you paid by PayPal, the amount will be refunded to your PayPal account. If you sent a check or cashier's check you will receive a check in return for the refund. Refunds may take a few days to clear after submittal.
- Any damage to the saddle will result in a fine or refusal of return, depending on the extent, at the discretion of Fine Used Saddles. Examples of damage include but are not limited to scratches, stains, dings, excessive wear, torn leather or a broken tree. As long as you are careful you should have no problems. Keep trial saddles at home inside, and away from critter claws!
